Resettlement Services
International Welcome Center assists individuals and families in their pursuit of happiness from the day they arrive to the United States.
Case Managers and Volunteers walk along side of families in their journey to self-sufficiency and integration into their new communities.
• Assists newly arrived refugees with their initial resettlement process including securing permanent housing, enrolling in public benefits and school, facilitating cultural orientation, and connecting them to additional supportive services that strengthen their integration into the community the first 90 days of their arrival.
• After 90 days of arrival, we assist refugees in making their house a home by providing essential household items and minor home repair support.
• International friendships support refugees adjusting to their new environment and navigate various systems such as access to banking, healthcare, education and other community services.
Education
International Welcome Center assists individual and families in obtaining their goals towards self sufficiency.
English Classes
• Trained volunteer conversational English tutors provide in home one on one tutoring sessions as well as small group gatherings using a full English curriculum supports English learners and increasing confidence.
Driver’s Education
• Trained volunteer instructors assist client’s in obtaining their temporary permits to their driver’s license.
Legal and Immigration
International Welcome Center assists refugees and immigrants on their journey toward citizenship.
• Provides affordable immigration legal services, such as assisting with N-400 Naturalization Application, I-90 Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card, I-130, I-485, and I-821D.
• Conducts proactive screenings for additional immigration benefits eligibility, including asylum, VAWA, and cancellation of removal.
• Refers clients to qualified service providers when their cases fall beyond its capabilities.
